Summary
AI Chat Collector does not collect, transmit, or share any user data. All data stays on your device in Chrome's local storage.
What data is stored
The extension stores the following information locally on your device using chrome.storage.local:
- Chat URLs — links to your conversations on Claude, ChatGPT, and Grok
- Chat titles — the page titles of those conversations
- Timestamps — when a chat was first saved and last opened
- Open count — how many times you opened each chat
- Tags — manually added tags for organizing chats
- Platform — which AI service the chat belongs to (Claude, ChatGPT, or Grok)
What data is NOT collected
- No conversation content or messages
- No personal information (name, email, etc.)
- No browsing history outside of supported AI chat platforms
- No cookies or authentication tokens
- No analytics or telemetry
Network requests
The extension makes zero network requests. It does not communicate with any external server, API, or analytics service. All processing happens locally in your browser.
Permissions explained
- storage — to save your chat collection locally on your device
- tabs — to detect when you open AI chat pages and read their titles
- Host permissions (claude.ai, chatgpt.com, grok.com) — to run the content script that extracts chat titles on these specific sites only
Data sharing
Your data is never shared with anyone. The extension has no server component, no accounts, and no way to transmit data outside your browser.
Data deletion
You can delete individual chats from the extension's options page. Uninstalling the extension removes all stored data automatically.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be included with the extension update.
